Google (GOOG) has taken a series of steps in recent months that have observers feeling like it has compromised its "Don't be evil" values:
August 2011: Google is required to forfeit $500 million in revenue from ads that led to the illegal importation of prescription drugs.
October 2011: The FTC finalizes an order requiring Google to undergo 20 years of audits, based on a privacy stumble with its Buzz social network.
Jan. 10, 2012: Google launches search changes that highlight content from its Google+ social network. Critics say it compromises its search objectivity.
Jan. 24, 2012: Google announces privacy change that allows it to pool data about consumers for all of its Web properties. Many protest the change.
Feb. 13, 2012: The Justice Department says Google's "ambiguous" statements on using patents as a trade weapon are a "significant concern."
Feb. 17, 2012: Google is caught by a Stanford University researcher deliberately bypassing privacy settings in Apple's (AAPL) Safari browser.
March 1, 2012: Google enacts privacy
