Feature: Blogging Google

Google has officially changed Android Market to Google Play and it is a far bigger leap towards cloud-based entertainment, not just with Android apps but also including music, movies, books and games. As for the name, it doesn't really reflect the essence as much as the name "Android market" did, because to some people the name "Play" implies gaming, a limited niche.

Google, however, has exactly the opposite in mind. Google's efforts in multimedia have been a bit scattered, but with the new combined Google Play platform, the cloud services giant is going to converge its products in a much more easy and user-friendly manner. One can say that Apple's cloud services has got a tough competitor in the market now, and only time will tell who is going to take a lead in this war.

User Benefit

Let's throw some light on how Google Play is going to help users, and how easy it is for users to manage their content online.

Users can now purchase and watch a movie from Google via their computers, and continue watching it on their tablet or smart phone, with the movie resuming exactly where it was left off.

According to Google, Play is a digital entertainment hub where you can find, enjoy and share your favorite music, movies, books and apps on the Web and on your Android phone or tablet. Google Play is entirely cloud-based, so all of your music, movies, books and apps are stored online, always available to you, no syncing required, and you never have to worry about losing them or transferring them from one point to another point .

Google Play Interface:

Google Play looks like the old Android Market, but it's a bit more intuitive. On one side you have links to Music, Movies, Apps, and Books, to search and purchase, while on the top you have My Music, My Movies, My Apps, and My Books, where you can find your personally purchased, downloaded (or even uploaded in the case of Google Music) library.
