Trayvon Martin tribute videos are flooding YouTube - with Brooklyn and Harlem contributing some of the loudest voices.
More than 1,000 raps, spoken word montages, and rock songs are up on the popular site featuring several dubbed as the "official" tune tied to the slain teen's family.
"I don't have a goal money wise, I just want to keep the conversation going," said Crown Heights filmmaker Ethan Johnson, 34, whose "A Trayvon Martin Tribute" is on the family's attorney's website (parkscrump.com/justicetm/)along with "Trayvon Martin Tribute" by Chaka Khan and "We Are Trayvon" by the Florida rapper Piles.
Johnson's video has images of blacks sporting hoodies, walking around Bedford-Stuyvesant in the dark, as sounds of people debating the details behind the February shooting play in the background.
"No one knows what happened that night," Johnson said.
The Florida boy was gunned down in February by George Zimmerman, 28, a half-Hispanic neighborhood watchman.
Martin, dressed in a hoodie, was walking back to his father's girlfriends home after buying a pack of Skittles at the store. Zimmerman told cops he thought the kid was suspicious.
Florida authorities haven't arrested Zimmerman citing their controversial Stand Your Ground self-defense law which has sparked national outrage.
Local artists said they wanted their words to bring exposure to Martin's parents' battle to lock up Zimmerman and repeal Florida's controversial Stand Your Ground law.
Allhiphop.com boasts their exclusive YouTube chat with Harlem rapper Immortal Technique where the hip-hopper blasts Florida cops for running a "botched investigation."
Shamele "Papoose" Mackie, 30, from Bed-Stuy, is using the attention from his "Trayvon Martin Tribute" music video to get other celebrities to publically support the Martin family.
Mackie is helping to organize a star studded concert at Lincoln Center in May inviting hip-hop's elite. "Everybody is concerned. Even the President spoke out about this,"Mackie said. "It is every celebrity's duty to talk about this injustice."
Other crooners said they put out their music to express their ire.
"Hip-hop is a medium to show justice for Trayvon," said Jean "J. Scar" Lodescar, 28, of East Flatbush about his new video "Feel Stronger," starring Zimmerman impersonator Jonathan Dimakopoulos, 22, from Astoria.
Lodescar, an iPhone technician known for the viral winter hit "Underpaid," retooled the "Feel Stronger" video after seeing Dimakopoulos's resemblance to the shooter.
Lodescar posted a casting call on Craigslist for free actors to team up with not expecting a Zimmerman look-alike.
"I am doing this for a good cause. What happened to Trayvon is sad," said Dimakopoulos explaining why he plays such a divisive figure. "This guy shot an innocent kid.
It's wrong what he did."
