Google really likes April Fools' Day - USA TODAY

If the classic video game recreation of its maps application isn't enough indication, Google is a big fan of April Fools' Day.

Consider some of the other "announcements" the Internet giant is making today:

The self-driving NASCAR ride. Over at the official Google blog, co-founder Sergey Brin unveils Google Racing, a partnership with NASCAR that delivers vehicles without the need for pesky drivers. "I can't imagine a more exciting challenge for our team than to race our autonomous vehicles against their carbon-based competitors," Brin writes. More photos of the "project" are available on Google Plus.

The YouTube DVD Collection. Click on the disc attached to the YouTube logo in the upper left corner to find a new way to enjoy Web videos: through the magic of DVD. The YouTube DVD Collection features several hilarious options, including "Viral Highlights," "Dubstep Remixes," and "Video Game Walkthroughs."

Gmail Tap. "The QWERTY keyboard was invented in 1874 and yet it is still used today, largely unchanged," Google jokes in a post on their official Gmail blog. "Today we're excited to introduce a new input method designed for the future." Enter Gmail Tap, which blends the magic of Morse code and keyboards into a fun, two-button interface. There's even a video breakdown:

Really Advanced Search. With this feature, users can search in a variety of categories, such as font, "words almost, but not quite entirely unlike," and "rhyming slang for." Scroll down to the bottom for additional options, including "tickle an unicorn" and "search by odor."
